Ultimately vSure's value as a partner comes from our unrivalled knowledge of working with Home Affairs archaic systems to deliver a modern, reliable, RESTful API. But a chain is only as strong as its weakest link and Home Affairs' underlying systems are the weakest link in the solution we deliver.
Our exponential growth in partners and volumes means that we will need to introduce some throttling of the vSure VEVO checks API to ensure we are not overloading Home Affair's systems.
We have introduced error 429 with a limit of 60 requests per minute per partner. This far exceeds the vast majority of peak loads from any of our partners currently, but we are conscious that more and more partners are being on-boarded and they are on-boarding more and more clients. This is a future-proofing risk mitigation strategy as we know intimately the Home Affairs systems can be overloaded.
